This study constitutes a novel approach to an ethnic minority that has never been studied by modern or contemporary historiography. It deals with American indians that were brought to Spain more o less forcibly along the XVIth century and for the most part were sold in peninsular slave markets. In this study it is analized the Spanish vision on this minority, their daily bearing in Spain, their integration in Spanish society and culture, as well as their conversion to the Catholic faith.
