Abstract

The Inquisition in the kingdom of Sicily during the XVIIIth century is studied in this article, which will consider the main changes that the inquisitorial Tribunal experienced in its organization, position, political and social role in the Italian kingdom, mainly from the time of its separation from the Spanish Inquisition and the application of a series of jurisdictional measures by the royal authorities that led to its peaceful demise in 1782.
