Although historiography has always tended to separate two phenomena that characterize the modern age, the Scientific Revolution and the Industrial Revolution, a careful reconsideration of the aforementioned however, allows us to catch a glimpse of a different perspective. From this point of view, Newtonianism (from its more experimental and practical angle) would have ultimately constituted a link between academic science and the craft tradition thus generating what was to be the driving force of the new industrial mentality.
