The concept of Justice structures Alfonso X's legal texts. This article analyzes the form and references which plays the concept of Justice as the king's atribute in the "Rey Sabio's" legal texts. As the king faced the imposibility of imposing Justice as the current law, the word changed is meaning. These cahnges affected the way the King's figure is presented in these texts, as well as the inernal coherence of institutional structures. The analysis reveals a change in the political conception and an attempt to legitimize the introduction of roman-canonical law.
