Los estudios sobre el poder local: planteamientos y tendencias sobre la investigación reciente

The article examines different studies dedicated to an innovative research project on local power in contemporary Spain. The most recent research is grouped into two interpretive lines: one is more interested in describing the function of the local powers, and the other pays attention to the complexity of the latter. The results of these studies are analyzed critically, and the positive and negative aspects are underlined, in addition to sumarizing a few proposals for advancing the research.
